The side rail protector with a split in the middle (for 2 half side rails at each side), is fitted over the side rail using buckles and is also connected under the mattress so the entire bed is shielded. The side rail can be raised or lowered without having to remove the side rail protector. The fabric is soft, very strong, has a high tear resistance and is flame retardant. The filling is also flame retardant. The material is not air-proof and breathable, so there is no risk of suffocation.
